The Spanish Pavilion at EXPO Milan 2015 | Cultivating the Future
Designed by B720 Fermìn Vàzquez Arquitectos, the pavilion of Spain at EXPO 2015, with a floor area of over 2,500 square meters / 26,900 square feet, is composed of two long parallel wings whose structure consists of a sequence of portals made in timber and stainless steel.
This simple and clear geometry houses an airy and welcoming space, where covered and open-air areas alternate with one another.
Coherently to its purpose, the pavilion has been conceived and built as a temporary building, using recyclable materials and prefab elements and easily demountable at the end of the World Exposition.
The exhibition inside the pavilion is articulated into three themes – territory, products, and gastronomy– presented by various media: digital sets, animations, cooking spaces, hydroponic fields, workshops, and an educational kitchen garden.
