Turin is many cities in one: the former capital of Italy, the Italian “Motor City”, and a cultural hotspot with great art, archaeology, architecture & design museums. Though not usually regarded as a major travel destination, Turin is nevertheless one of the Italian cities with the most diverse cultural offer, ranging from one of the world’s largest museums of Egyptian antiquities to contemporary art galleries (it was the hometown of the Arte Povera movement in the 1960s) to some of the best museums of design and technology in the country.
