For the Milan Design Week 2018, which takes place from 17 through 22 April, the Lambrate Design District presents a number of events, all located in the area between via Massimiano, via Ventura and via Conte Rosso.

DIN – Design In – an event organized by Promotedesign.it which has now reached its 6th edition – takes place in via Massimiano 6. In a former 2,000-square-meter industrial building, the visitors can appreciate the products of various designers, companies, schools, organizations, and architects from all over the world. Collateral events here also include the 2018 edition of the successful Temporary Shop by Artistarjewels.com.

Lambrate District, Din – Design in, Leave the Sign, ‘Bill and Will’, induction and string lamps available in two sizes and three finishings: bamboo, ash tree, and walnut. Lambrate District, Din – Design in. Francesco Gioia, Jesi (An)  ‘Pleatform’, a collection of wooden plates designed for a more conscious use of environmental resources in the context of hospitality. Lambrate District, Din – Design in. Kamaro’An, Taipei, Taiwan. Inspired by Taiwanese culture, the Kamaro’an brand explores natural materials and craftsmanship through simple designs. It becomes a site for the incubation of new forms of architecture and a new approach to this discipline. It sets itself the goal of testing the relationships between design, object, space, and architecture, while simultaneously examining their limits. Photos Inexhibit, 2018.


 

Architect Simone Micheli is the curator of the ‘Hotel Regeneration‘ event at Officina Ventura, an experimental exhibition focused on the renovation of contemporary hotels.

In the loft spaces of via Massimiano 25, ‘FUORISALMONE’ – an active network conceived to create connections between designers, companies, products, and market resources – presents the fifth edition of its event aimed to promote business opportunities and contacts between design professionals and companies.

FUORISALMONE, via Massimiano, 25.

Two new spaces has been added to Lambrate’s venues, the first is Spazio Donno – a 700-square-meter space in ‘via Conte Rosso’ 36 – where Italian and international designers – invited by Stefano Epis, founder of Design Circus – present products and projects focused on home automation. STUDIO CR34 – an interior and product design agency located in ‘via Conte Rosso’ 34 is another new entry.

The Mohole school, located in via Ventura 5, features a week-long program of events, including exhibitions, film screenings, live performances, and documentaries made by students from the eight departments of the school (film-making, acting, 3D animation, graphic design, filming, storytelling, comics, and web). The week will end with an Open Day, scheduled for Saturday 21 April.

The program of Lambrate Design District 2018 also features a number of night events, such as WEating, located in the courtyard of Din – Design In, and Street Food Experience at ‘Giardino Ventura’. New entry among the food events is ‘Osteria Milano’. Located at via Sbodio 30, in the heart of the Lambrate District, ‘Osteria Milano’ is a meeting point featuring a program of exhibitions of emerging designers, concerts, live performances, and DJ sets.
